Since February 2010 IT and Finance department will already report directly to ReSources:  A group that will handle support for the publicis groupe. Aside from being part of this new group we also report to our new boss the IT director of Jimenez basic our sister company.

Arg! I still haven’t mastered Visual Basic 2008 here comes another new version.  Oh well, that’s the thing in IT business.  Anyway, I’ll still continue working on VB 2008 and maybe I’ll take a good look at 2010. Not sure if I’m going to shift to 2010 version but I’m dying to test it out. See some new features.

Its Thursday morning.

I recently enrolled to a gym class recently.  Every morning my body aches especially at the back. But it felt good. I get to do a lot of exercise now. 2010 resolution. Anyways, I’m working on with my first social networking website project http://www.lovelinkasia.com. Hopefully I would be able to finish it this February.  Thanks to OSDate software.

I realize I’ve been very very lazy this couple of months.  I don’t know why. Maybe because of the working environment.  I have this lazy boss maybe I was influenced he he. I still can’t figure out where in the world did he get this stupid network plan. can you imagine a long range network without a back-bone. I’m sorry if I’m a bit harsh but thats how we do things here. Hate it.

I’m now going to start creating the registration page. Have a nice day guys.

Its January!  A whole new year for me.  Lots of things happened in the past few months. I didn’t have the time to write blogs. I promise, from now on I will update my site as often as I can. Share new things here.  I think this will be my lucky year. Positive attitude eh. he he he.

I have two programs to finish before end of January and aside from that I have to pay bills and debts.  What a pain! That’s okay no need to be dramatic. Anyway, I’m going to stop typing now. Have to start working. hehehe.

It was weekend September 26, 2009 when Ondoy visited Metro Manila.  I was at the office witnessing the enormous dark clouds that pouring large droplets of rain.  And I asked myself  while looking at the window “Do I need to go home now or wait for the rain to stop?“.

Away from Home

Did you ever feel empty or incomplete? Did you ever dream of going home and leaving your dreams? Me? I always do.

I just arrived this morning coming back from Bicol province.   I visited my mother there for 3 days weekend vacation.  It was wonderful, It feels like I’ve never been home for a long time. I had such a great time. Although we had lots of visitors because it’s fiesta there. It really felt home for me.

But what is a Home? Is it where you were born.. Is it where you go home after school or work.. Is it the house where you live.. I remember a line from my favorite cartoon character Naruto says “Home is where someone is thinking about you”.  It’s true.

Being with my mother was the only way to feel home for me.  Yeah I admit I am my mama’s boy.  Former mama’s black sheep back in elementary and high school.  Kicked-out from the school she wanted for me,  Alcohol drinker and smoker at a young age of 16 and troublemaker in school. A lot of things I’m not proud of sharing.

This blog is about the facts on getting NBI Clearance.

Yesterday I got my first NBI clearance at Carriedo, Manila.  I was there at around 6:30 in the morning. I thought I was early but then I’m surprised, I was at the layer 3 line. If you imagine what I mean.

Moreover,  At the line where we stand, Approaching are  “Problem Solvers” or they call them THE FIXERS are persuading people to get the clearance from them because it’s much easier and faster.  They’re saying “Hey, I could get your clearance in 30 minutes for 400 pesos”.  Yes you read it right! 400 pesos for 30 minutes when you can get the clearance for only 115 pesos + (20 pesos for entrance) in  45 minutes.  I heard that  those people were NBI dogs.

Okay here’s the thing FIXERS they’re Illegal. Other than that.  They delay the processing of clearances.  How!?  One, the NBI office will process first who paid the 400 pesos rush processing. two, the releasing section will not function or release clearance until the fixers collected enough money for the day.

How about the people who were patiently waiting and standing in the line from 5 am until NBI opens at 8 am?  will they be the last to get the clearance. yes! that will be the case.

I know that not only NBI were doing dirty tricks like these. I also experienced it in Land Transportation Office(LTO).  I’m not condemning NBI. Philippines is really under economic crisis right now.  People were tempted to do these things because of poverty but please,  let’s not make it very difficult for our people.

Less corruption, gain more trust from our people.

This is what other’s are waiting for! The new Mac OS X 10.6. I thought this will be out on September. We can’t wait until September can we? hehehe. Here are some of the few new features of Mac OS Snow I got this from MacWorld.com. Thanks guys!

Exchange

The biggest new feature in Snow Leopard is support for Exchange, Microsoft’s popular e-mail, contact, and calendar server. The iPhone got support for Exchange last year, and now it’s the Mac’s turn to join the party. (Ironically, Windows doesn’t support Exchange out of the box.) As a result, it has become that much easier to integrate the Mac into businesses that have standardized on Exchange.

The way Exchange support works in Snow Leopard is pretty simple: once you add an Exchange account in Mail, you’ll start receiving e-mail messages in Mail, you’ll be able to view Exchange contacts in Address Book, and Exchange calendars and tasks will appear in iCal. iCal will even perform tricky tasks like scheduling meetings based on the free/busy status of invitees; you can accept or decline meeting invitations right from Mail. If you’re syncing your iPhone to the same Exchange server, all those calendar events will sync up automatically.

As any IT manager will tell you, Exchange can be a deep and complex subject. We’ve asked an IT expert to discuss Exchange in Snow Leopard in detail, and will be posting a separate article on the subject soon.

I’m suffering allergy for quite a while.  The irritating pain on my head, eyes, and nose that’s bothering me with work when I have these allergies.  I hate it because I don’t get to think right or focus on anything except sneezing!

I’m very allergic to dust, perfume, cigarette smoke or any smell that could easily irritate my nose. Sometimes I wanted to use perfumes but I can’t. It sucks!

Early this morning I got a rush presentation to edit. It’s like having to milk a cow to convert gb size videos on my workaholic machine, of course milking cows would be much boring to do hehehe..

Okay this blog is about my work. Well, I do different kinds of work. Sometimes I do video conversion and subtitling, Sometimes I get to fix Mac or PC computers, Sometimes I have  to do web designs and I do a lot of uploading on our intranet website. Plus,

I maintain a bunch of database servers MS SQL and MYSQL Servers.  I use a few languages like Visual Basic.net for Windows Apps and PHP or ASP on Web Apps.

Nevertheless, I also have a time to farm in farmville and eat ice cream! At the end of this.  I manage to do all my work without pressure. Always love your work and if you don’t, RESIGN!!!

Manage your time and work with your heart in it..
