1. Back up any files you want to save (especially your user.id and names.nsf).
2. Delete the Lotus Notes directory (and data dir if it is not underneath Lotus Notes).
3. Delete Notes Preferences File.

Uninstalling Notes 7.x:

1. Back up any files you want to save (especially your user.id and names.nsf).
2. Delete the Notes App directory (the Notes icon in /Applications).
3. Delete the data directory:

- On Notes 6 to Notes 7 upgrade, the data dir is where it was for the 6 install, ( /Applications/Lotus Notes/Data)
- On a fresh Notes 7 install, the data dir is in /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Lotus Notes Data

4. Delete the Notes Preferences File.
5. Delete com.ibm.lotus.Notes.plist (same location as Notes Preferences).
6. Delete com.ibm.lotus.NotesInstaller.plist (same location as Notes Preferences).
7. Delete /Library/Receipts/Lotus Notes Installer.pkg
8. Empty Trash.

Uninstalling Notes 8.x:

You can uninstall IBM® Lotus® Notes® by dragging Notes.app from /Applications to the trash. This preserves user data. You can also uninstall Notes using the uninstaller application supplied with the Notes install media. This preserves user data. As well, you can also uninstall Notes by dragging the following items to the Apple® Mac OS X® trash bin:

Notes.app

~/Library/Application Support/Lotus Notes Data folder (“~” = user’s home directory)

~/Library/Preferences/Notes Preferences

/Library/Receipts/Lotus Notes Installer.pkg

/Library/Receipts/Lotus Notes Installer_English.pkg

/Library/Receipts/xpdcoreinstaller.pkg

Note To reinstall after uninstalling, you may also need to delete the following items prior to reinstalling Notes:

Note If you installed the Notes basic configuration, rather than the standard configuration, you can uninstall the Notes basic configuration by dragging Notes.app from /Applications to the trash. This preserves user data. You can also uninstall Notes by dragging the following items to the Mac OS X trash bin:

/Applications/Notes.app

~/Library/Application Support/Lotus Notes Data folder (“~” = user’s home directory)

Hi Guys! I just wanted to share with you this tutorial about separating names. This applies to Microsoft Excel 2003 and 2002.

Split content based on a delimiter

This method works best if your names have a similar format, such as “First_name Last_name” (where the space is the delimiter) or “Last_name, First_name” (where the comma is the delimiter).

Select the range of data that you want to convert.

On the Data menu, click Text to Columns.

In Step 1 of the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, click Delimited and then click Next.

In Step 2, select the Space check box and then clear the other check boxes in the Delimiters section.

The Data preview window shows the first and last names in two separate lists.

Note If your list contains middle names, the full name will be distributed into three separate columns: first, middle, and last.

Click Next.

In Step 3, click a column in the Data preview window, and then click Textunder Column data format.

Repeat this step for each column in the Data preview window.

If you want to show the separated content in the columns next to the full name, click the icon at the right of the Destination box, and then select the cell next to the first name in the list (B2, in this example).

Click the icon at the right of the Convert Text to Columns Wizard.

Its Thursday morning.

I recently enrolled to a gym class recently. Every morning my body aches especially at the back. But it felt good. I get to do a lot of exercise now. 2010 resolution. Anyways, I’m working on with my first social networking website project http://www.lovelinkasia.com. Hopefully I would be able to finish it this February. Thanks to OSDate software.

I realize I’ve been very very lazy this couple of months. I don’t know why. Maybe because of the working environment. I have this lazy boss maybe I was influenced he he. I still can’t figure out where in the world did he get this stupid network plan. can you imagine a long range network without a back-bone. I’m sorry if I’m a bit harsh but thats how we do things here. Hate it.

I’m now going to start creating the registration page. Have a nice day guys.

It was weekend September 26, 2009 when Ondoy visited Metro Manila. I was at the office witnessing the enormous dark clouds that pouring large droplets of rain. And I asked myself while looking at the window “Do I need to go home now or wait for the rain to stop?“.

I’ve waited a little longer but still the rain won’t stop. So I decided to go home and struggled with the wind going to greenbelt mall using my shorthanded umbrella. It was like fighting with Manny Pacquiao on the ring. The wind was everywhere guarding myself in front, from behind and from side to side. I was blocking those shots. Eventually, I reached the mall and realized my umbrella was deformed and unusable so I just kept it in my bag.

I thought it was pure bad luck. No jeepneys and buses to ride home. Lots of people were on the street waiting regardless of the wind and rain. Needless to say, I’m stuck again for a couple of hours. It was hopeless to wait for Public vehicles. So I’ve made up my mind and try to walk home. My pants were soaked in the flood but I never felt tired walking because lots of people were walking too. And so I arrived home and I quickly turned on the TV to watch the news.

It was a shocking to see flood all over metro manila. Cainta Rizal, Pasig and Marikina. A hundred people died that day. Manila was empty glass poured with water. Water kept rising. I imagine myself back in the province where I experienced this kind of calamity. Wherein there’s no electricity for one month. Sleeping on wet floor. But we were blessed because we’re still alive and well.

As much as I want to believe that Typhoon Ondoy was solely responsible for the flash floods and deaths that day. I feel guilty too, thinking about global warming or climate change. People are forgetting about Nature. Everyday, walking by the streets of manila it was really disappointing looking at all the garbages everywhere. I’m not saying I wasn’t part of it, actually I’m part of it. part of what is happening in the environment. I think YOU and I should start caring for the environment. Stop using non-biodegradable things like plastic.

I’m impress the way Puerto Princessa in Palawan handle things like this. Their state of the art waste management system is highly commendable. I just hope Metro Manila and other regions will implement this kind of waste management workaround.

It’s not too late for us. Think about the future. Think about nature.

I just arrived this morning coming back from Bicol province. I visited my mother there for 3 days weekend vacation. It was wonderful, It feels like I’ve never been home for a long time. I had such a great time. Although we had lots of visitors because it’s fiesta there. It really felt home for me.

But what is a Home? Is it where you were born.. Is it where you go home after school or work.. Is it the house where you live.. I remember a line from my favorite cartoon character Naruto says “Home is where someone is thinking about you”. It’s true.

Being with my mother was the only way to feel home for me. Yeah I admit I am my mama’s boy. Former mama’s black sheep back in elementary and high school. Kicked-out from the school she wanted for me, Alcohol drinker and smoker at a young age of 16 and troublemaker in school. A lot of things I’m not proud of sharing.

I know how much pain I’ve caused her. It all changed when I was in college. from then, I had this sense of responsibility. I studied hard and worked hard. I won several programming competitions. I never stop studying. I aimed high and wanted her to be proud of me. I know she’s proud of me now.

I hope our plans will work when she retire. We would manage a farm and live a simple life. Plant trees, feed animals, raise money for a small foundation and so much more.. whew! I can’t wait anymore..

At end of this blog. I could say that home is where the most important part of your life lives.
